DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:
The project was to provide six
social housing units for rent.
The new buildings are constructed
in a traditional nature with the use of strip foundations,
solid ground floors, timber first floors to houses and beam
and plank first floor to the flats, rendered faced masonry
cavity walls with hardwood windows and external doors, timber
pitched roofs clad in interlocking tiles.
Ancillary works include forming
a parking area, external services, sewer diversion, drainage
and site works.
CONSULTANT SERVICES PROVIDED:
The Pre-Contract Services carried
out on this project involved the preparation of the building
regulation and working drawings, initial budgeting, the preparation
of the specification and the reporting and advising on the
selection of the tenders received.
The Post-Contract Services carried
out on this project involved the issuing of instructions,
continual cost monitoring and reporting on the project, the
agree and certifying of monthly valuations, dealing with Contractual
matters, chair monthly meetings and overseeing the works and
the agreeing of the final account.
