DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:
The project was carried
out in two phases. The works to phase one comprised the construction
of seventeen social housing units for rent. The project was
to construct the substructure and superstructure of the two
storey houses and flats to provide a well laid out close.
The buildings are a mixture of two and three bedroom units.
The new buildings are constructed in a traditional nature
with the use of piled foundations, beam and block floors,
brick faced masonry cavity walls with upvc windows and external
doors, timber pitched roofs clad in interlocking tiles. Ancillary
works include raising the existing ground level above the
flood plain, external services, drainage, play area and site
works. Six of the properties also had eco enhancements.

CONSULTANT SERVICES PROVIDED:
The Pre-Contract Services
carried out on this project involved the initial budgeting,
the preparation of the Employer=s Requirements and the reporting
and advising on the selection of the tenders received.
The Post-Contract Services
carried out on this project involved the continual cost monitoring
and reporting on the project, agreeing and certifying of monthly
valuations, dealing with Contractual matters, chairing monthly
meetings and overseeing the works and the agreeing of the
final account.
