DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:

This swimming pool was part of the winter programme for 1999/2000 season undertaken by a long standing client of ours, Weststar Holidays Ltd. The works where undertaken concurrently with the refurbishment of 130 chalets. The pool building was steel framed with a combination of patent glazing and insulated steel cladding. The pool itself was constructed using reinforced hollow blockwork built of a reinforced concrete slab. The pool is a level deck type with a balancing tank at one end and was built at ground level to utilise the existing step in ground levels on the site. The building was built as a lean-to type extension against the existing clubhouse building and adjacent parts of the existing building were altered to form the plant room and changing facilities. The plant included air conditioning, filtration and a combined gas fired boiler for both the air conditioning and pool.

CONSULTANT SERVICES PROVIDED:

The Pre-Contract Services carried out on this project involved the initial budgeting, the preparation of the Bills of Quantities and the reporting and advising on the selection of the tenders received.

The Post-Contract Services carried out on this project involved regular cost monitoring and reporting on the project, carrying out and certifying of monthly valuations and the preparation of the final account.
